Model 9143 Diver

Previous page

Description: The Level Devil* 9143 Diver is a state-of-the-art, integrated pressure gauge and modem. It reports the level of a single liquid storage tank. It is housed in a tubular shaped housing allowing the unit to be lowered through a tank's top opening to rest on the bottom. The phone cable is enclosed in a plastic tube for protection and it provides a vent to the atmosphere for the low pressure side of the integrated differential pressure gauge. Electrical power used to operate the Diver is obtained from the phone line connection. The Diver is a very low powered device (it sleeps a lot) and can run for hours with energy stored in its energy storing capacitor. No batteries are used and it recharges every time it communicates.

Operation: With the Diver sitting at the bottom of a tank, any liquid above it causes pressure which the Diver senses. Pressure information is converted to level information inside the Diver and stored for later retrieval. The internal microprocessor causes the Diver to either answer the phone or dial out. The Diver can automatically dial out upon a low level alarm. Communication with Level Devil software (sold separately) is bi-directional so new level readings are retrieved and at the same time new commands are sent to the Diver. The Diver may be connected on the same phone line as FAX machines, computers and answering machines. With its unique speed answer features, the Diver lowers its ring count during a programmable time period (say 1AM to 4AM) so it answers before anything else that may be attached to the phone line.
