9172 PentaComm Satellite Communicator

Description: The 9172 PentaComm is housed in a NEMA 4X enclosure allowing it to meet the most demanding requirements. Located inside the PentaComm is a battery, satellite transceiver, and input circuitry to connect up to five data signals. Either 4-20ma or 0-5 volt signals may be connected in any combination. Several options are available to help customize the PentaComm for specific applications.

Operation: The 9172 PentaComm has a built-in timer that helps manage power on and power off modes. To conserve battery power, the 9172 spends most of its time sleeping. It applies power to the sensor and the Orbcomm communicator only at specified times of the day. All timing is programmable so each application may adjust power on and off modes as required. When level alarms are the main task more data sampling is required. When only daily levels are needed, then power off dominates.

The PentaComm is very flexible and includes the following features to support all applications:
