9177/9178 Wireless Level Alarm

Previous page

Description: The model 9177 (receiver) and the model 9178 (transmitter) are a wireless liquid-level alarm system used to detect either high level (standard) or low level conditions. A tank, equipped with a model 9178 transmitter, reports its alarm condition wirelessly to a model 9177 receiver and eliminates the need for conduit and cables from the tank. The model 9177 receiver reports the alarm condition from up to four (4) transmitters and activates a loud sonic enunciator when an alarm occurs. A front panel push-button allows the sonic enunciator to be silenced while the alarm light continues to blink until the alarm condition is removed.

Operation: A float on the end of the transmitter unit causes a concealed switch to identify an alarm condition. The transmitter immediately reports the new level to the receiver, which in turn sounds the sonic enunciator and turns on the alarm light. An output (one per alarm) also indicates the new alarm status.

After an operator confirms the alarm condition by pressing the silence button, the receiver continues to chirp every hour as a reminder of the alarm condition. Once the alarm condition has been removed the chirping stops automatically. Other situations causing the hourly chirping are: low transmitter battery, loss communication with a transmitter, and an optional six (6) month system check reminder.
